Workout classes, because I need accountability to get out of the house and move my body this time of year, and with working from home, these classes are my new second place
International flights to countries I have always dreamed of going to, because I self-soothe with travel and I am a sucker for deals
Beginner snowboarding lessons, because apparently 32 is the age where you go from “snow sports are a racket, no thank you” to “sure, I’ll pay $200 to learn how to ride fancy plastic down a mountain”
Barrel jeans, because I was out shopping and saw a woman wearing them and thought “cute” and then I found some while online Black Friday shopping, and even though I do not really like jeans and have not liked them for years, I remain convinced that I will someday find the elusive perfect pair that will change my mind
Too many Christmas/holiday gifts, because I love spoiling people I love and I WISH I had an unlimited gift budget but alas
Live performances, because seeing people earnestly perform to a paying audience renews my faith in humanity this time of year
Plan B, because it’s available on Amazon and it feels like a thing that wouldn’t hurt to have on hand before 2025
“It was a new thing that made us feel like we had some sort of control over our lives. We can vote, but what else can we do? We can get a bag that’ll make us happy,” she told CNN.
Flour, because apparently flour expires after 6 months so I should really compost the bulk flour I bought in 2022
Mutual aid donations, to locals in need and to families trapped in Gaza, because it’s the least I can do when I am spending so much on things I don’t need
Annual magazine subscriptions, because print media is dying
Heeled crocs and pearl jibbitz, because I don’t want to spend $300 on the Simone Rocha/Crocs collab but I love the style, so I tried to dupe them and it kind of worked
Household organizers, because if I believe if I can achieve feng shui, it will carry into all aspects of my life and all my problems will be solved (also, I can no longer stand precariously stacking mugs when there is plenty of room for another cupboard shelf, and I have the means to solve my own problem)
